Welcome to my home in Kilcrohane on the Wild Atlantic Way!
Our house nestles in the heart of Kilcrohane, a beautiful village halfway out the Sheep’s Head Peninsula. The house is modern and very cosy and comfortable with three double bedrooms for guests. We love to sit around the log-burning stove in the living room on chilly evenings and chat or maybe sing a song. As soon as the sun shines and the weather is warmer we eat out in the garden.
The village boasts a shop, two pubs, two restaurants, a church some local alpacas and, of course, lots of friendly “locals” who were born and bred here but also many others from far flung places, who fell in love with Kilcrohane and moved here.
We are only a 15-minute walk from the sea where swimmers gather at our local pier in a beautiful, sheltered bay to swim all year round. The area is a walkers’ paradise with extensive way marked routes making up the Sheep’s Head Way all along the peninsula right out to the spectacular lighthouse at the tip of Sheep’s Head. The nearest town is colourful Bantry just 30 minutes’ drive away, which is the gateway to the rest of West Cork and Kerry.
